I went to an exhibition of Mexico’s 20th century art since one of my favorite artist Frida Kahlo was in it.
When I first saw her art I could not stop crying.
Such a strong message to one’s life and the amazing way of living as a woman.
My song [What I heard in the water] was inspired by her art [What I saw in the water]
As soon as I entered there was her drawing.
The air is different from the other places. Such a strong power, it is amazing.
Anyway I was shocked that this was the only picture of hers. With this poster I imagined there would be more.
Still it was very exciting since the time was just the same as the Jazz history. Although there are some parts in common the way of expression is quite different with America and Mexico. I am always moved by the power and message art can give when the history is changing.
