Today was the gig I had been looking forward too. It was a place that I wanted to play from before and I people that I wanted to play with so I couldn’t wait and I couldn’t sleep the night before just as like when I was a child and the night before my birthday or Christmas.
Ms Orie Hirayama had introduced me to Mr.Isamu Oohashi and I had became a great fan of his melodies and his passionate guitar so I was really looking forward to playing together again. The leader today was Mr. Takahiko Inoe.. Both our favorite animals are horses so I feel close just for that reason. Mr.Yoshioka the bassist has a beautiful approach and Mr.Saito on keyboard expresses as if he is a part of his instrument.
It was such a great experience and I feel like composing.
I got the CD of Tsuyoshi,Kyu,Sohei [Flying Humanoid] All the members are friends so I am very pleased for the release. I listened to it just now and it is great music!!! Aggressive but gentle and very creative.
I played in Klavier as a leader gig. It is great to be able to play with musicians that one can really trust and I could relax and play. Momo was in Tokyo so she came to sit in and it became a very fun session. Being able to play with out a mike is worth the effort and I always enjoy it. I want to increase more speed and power!!
Here are the Nicas regular members Nao and Kenji. We have been playing in Nicas for nearly one year. I would like to give our group a name, I must ask the memners! I am so happy that it has continued for 1 year. I think the sound of nicas matches out sound. The concept for nicas is to play one feature songs for the 3 of us, to challenge a new song every time and pay respect to the old standards. Our next time is 12/20. I hope to see you there!!
I have written about my friend dancer Airi Suzuki before on my blog. We were high school friends and she went to study dance in USA and now back in Japan for the preparation to move to Europe. We have been taking contact since we she was in NY and we are planning to make something together! I love to watch dancing although I can not dance at all so I am really looking forward to it! It will be one of my next big projects.
As one of the preparations for it I went to the body treatment class Airi teaches. It is manly how to stand and about our posture and many things to learn for my flute playing.
I played in SibaUma club with maiko. 3 months since last time we both had new ideas and it was interesting as usual. Since it is only violin and flute there is a lot to do but my success of the day was I felt that I learned where to loosen the tension. The name SibaUma came from maiko’s favorite animal Siba-inu(Japanese dog) and my favorite animal horse (in Japanese Uma). It was our imagination animal but I began to feel that I wanted to see what it looked like so I asked a illustrator to design what it actually looked like. It has at last came out and I love it.
I have been to Toyama 3 times thanks to Momo. It was to play in a big event(1200 people came ) and I have been working a lot with Momo since she had came back to Japan but to be able to play on such a big stage when it’s less hten a year since she has been in Japan is amazing.
I love here original songs. This time she did the arrangement for strings too which were amazing. Somebody told us that they were impressed that Momo has her roots in where she was brought up and also trying new things and it was a great pleasure to be able to participate in such a occasion.
I went to se Rakugo with Orie and Junko. They are both musicians but the reason we went was because Orie is a Professional Rakogo speaker and he was going to be on show.
Rokugo is a type of traditional Japanese art where the speaker tells a story to the audience. It was at a Rakugo theater and I enjoyed it so much. Orie’s brother was last on stage which means he is the best!!
After it finished we went to have coffee and we had great fun hearing stories about Orie’s family. They are so much interesting people I am not surprised that the two children(Orie and)are artists.
We all live near each other so and we always have fun.
My little hobby is growing the Basil Junko gave me. If it goes well I shall get some more herbs. I feel very satisfied when I am thinking what to make with the fresh grown basil.
I would like to say thank you so much to the two of them.
I played in Yonaru With Akane on vocal and Mr.Takobo on piano. I don’t remember when I last played with Mr.Takubo maybe about 1 year but it was a great feeling to play again and find that our music had probably developed since last year. Anyway I had been off work for a few days so it was great to be on stage again.
I have been practicing atlast and now I must concentrate on my composing work I shall increase my gigs little by little but I will still be on slow mode for this month probably. We will be playing again on December and I am looking forward to it
