I played with Yukari and Orie.. I really enjoy the ensemble with piano cello and flute. I would like to write something for this combination. I am having a gig with the same members on 4/20 in coffee bigaku in Gakugeidaigaku. I hope to see you there.
I am writing music now and doing a lot of thinking. I should be able to talk about it soon.
I played with momo in Dome hotel. The duo with her is really free and it gets more and more interesting when we play together. We well probably be doing another gig and I will let you know when we know the details.
It is really scary but until 15:00 I didn’t realize I was working today. Luckily I realized and managed to go to work but a scary experience.
The reason I thought that I wasn’t working was because I have taken 3 days off so I can compose some music. I must work on it so I shall finish writing but there is 1 more thing I must say.
Playing in the Kawasaki city museum has come true. I really want to play in places not only in jazz clubs so I am really pleased. Please check my schedule page for details.
It is the second day with Hiroko. Today is in motion blue. I had heard that they serve really good food for musicians and that was true. Also the sound system was great and a very kind stuation for musicians.
I don't often play Brazilian music but Hiroko introduces me to all sorts of new music.Also her heautiful originals. It was a great experience to be able to play with Mr.Ikenaga whom I was a big fan since I was a student.Playing with him my imagination really developed and it was great fan. I would love to play again so I must practice a lot.
I played as MiyanoMiyako. We will have a break for awhile so it will be the last time for a while. We had many supports and I would really like to thank every one who supported us.
We will work on our leader projects but we will still work tougher as in quartets and different formats so I hope you will still support us.
Mr.Fujii the drummer we work tougher in Hiroko’s quartet and he sat in. It was fun.
I played in phonolite. The leader Mr.Mizutani made so much effort for all the members to feel comfortable I learned t Hat must be how a leader should be. The most difference in Phonolite for me is there is a sound engineer Mr,Ni as a member. The first time I met Mr.Ni was 3 years ago when I first played with Mr.Yosuke Yamashita in a big hall. I remember when I played my first note I was surprised how comfortable the sound was. It is also scary because the sound coming out of the PA system is totally out of my control but great to have a good engineer that you can trust. Specially in an ensemble like phonolite the power of the engenieer can change the whole sound.
Mr.Mizutani is so amazing and for me all the other members are like gods for me so it is a great experience to be able to play amongst such amazing members,
Between the gig and rehearsal we went to a shop that mainly serves vegetable juice. You can choose what you want to drink depending on how you feel suchas (tired) (feel like caught a cold) and so on.
I really should eat more vegetables. I have been spending a lot of time with my vegetarian friend and I seen to feel her energy a lot recently. I am considerating to going back to been a vagetarian. I used to be so for about 2 years and actually I felt quit well in those days.
If there is any time you can really feel when your own musical aims reaches up to a new level for me it was during the tour I went on playing a duo with momo, The songs she wrights are totally new for me and a very good inspireing challenge for me.
It was my first time to go to koendori classics. It was a perfect place for artists to express their work. The sound enviroment is perfect and I could really enjoy true music there.
An event that I am really looking forward has come true. One of my aims of this year is to make a network between music and other forms of art. Last year we made a challenge and got good response. The name of the project was “hello goodbye” focusing on the one moment that can change your life that will never come back again.
It is a great experience for me to be able to play with Yukari and Mr.Mashine. At last all the hard work of January has gone and I was able to practice before today. So as it goes I managed to play comfortably. I guess one of the key to success depends on the amount you prepare.
This gig was my only leader gig in February. Since I have started playing I have kept my aim to play more than 2 leader gigs a month but now my feeling is to play every gig with more responsibility and with preparation so I am now decreasing the numbers.
My next leaser gig is my chord less trio with Mr.Hiroaki Mizutani on bass Mr.Akira Sotoyama on drums and having Mr.Toru Tenda as a guest. It will be a stage focused on improvisation.
The leader gig is what I really want to express now so I hope you will come and support me.
I played in a quartet of Ms.Hiroko Miyano the plano player. I really like her originals. In the day time also we had a rehearsal for motion blue. Hiroko is putting a lot of energy in it.
I played in a event in Omotesando Hills. The members were Ms.Yuko Kajitani the viola player whom introduced me to this job, Ms. Mio Abe the violin player whom I haven’t met since my CD releasing live, and Ms.Ayumi Hashimoto whom we play toghether in the group Phonolite.
This day is a challenge for me because today is a classic job. The songs aren’t that difficult but I am not used in playing classical music so I felt quite nervous.
People often ask me if I have any experience in Classical music. The answer is no because when I was studying as a student I went straight to a jazz course and to be honest at that time I couldn’t understand the meaning of the composers feeling and the history.
That’s why it was a big surprise when I got this job and also a challenge for me in the music that I now really respect. Luckily all the musicians were also played jazz too and understood my feelings and helped me a lot so I managed to get through it. It was a great experience.
The event was a PR for a new cosmetic item and we all wore light pink dresses which made me feel like it was spring.
Everything was different from what it was like in a Jazz club but many new things to learn.
I played in Ginza swing city in Ms.Himiko Kikuci’s group. It was my first time to play with Himiko and the vibraphone player Mr.Hitosi Hamada were both really kind and it was a long time no see with the bassist Mr.Ryu Kawamura so it was a very interesting session.
It was our first time to play in Kichijyoji Strings. It was my first time to play with the grandpiano open using no PA. It turned out really well so I was very happy, I guess it is thanks to the way Strings is made. Recently I find that many places ask me to play with a mike when there is no necessary to Musicians and club owners are to much used to loud sounds. I want change this environment little by little. I would really like to thank Hiroko for controlling the volume.
I was happy because I could play Hiroko's beautiful originals and Mr.Kinukawa on guitar came to sit in also my friend from High school just dropped in and when things like that happen I really think that Jazz is wonderful.
いよいよ富山のラッシュライフmomoさんの地元デビューライブという事もあって、たくさんのあたたかい応援をいただきました。富山をイメージしたmomoさんのsnow gardenという曲があるのですが、これは、富山で演奏すると自分の中でとっても説得力を感じました。写真はラッシュライフのマスター夫妻とmomo。満員御礼で、本当にありがとうございました。色々学ぶ事の多い、金沢、富山ツアーでした。でも、まだ終っていません！！最終日は2月15日に渋谷の公園通りクラシックスです。momoさんのオリジナル中心のステージです、私にとっても新しいチャレンジですので、是非是非いらしてください！！とってもお勧めです。 At last the main event playing in Lush life. It was momo’s debut gig in Toyama and we received very kind support. There is a song called snow garden writen by her a beautiful song inspired of the land scape of Toyama and actually playing this in Toyama meant a lot to me. The photo is with the owner couple and momo. It was a full house again and I would like to thank all the people who came. There was a lot to learn from this tour. But it still has not ended!! The last day is 2/15 at Koendori Classics. It will be mainly momo’s originals and it is a new challenge for me so I really recommend this day.
The next day we went to the 21centry museum in Kanazawa. It was really interesting. Momo seems to be planning something here and it would be great if it would come true. The reason we did not play this day was in Toyoma there was a concert called the Super jazz performed by Mr.Terumasa Hino Mr.Yosuke Yamasita and Mr.Teturo Kawasima. All the town was full of that event and I was glad that we didn’t play that day. I was so tired with all the traveling that I nearly fell asleep which I could not believe that I could in such energetic music but it was a great event.
Hello now I am in Kanazawa. It is my first time to be here and it is because of the Duo of momo. She has studied composition in NY and to tell the truth it was hard for me to keep up with the level but really a good inspiration for me and worth working for. Her songs are wonderful and I really would like lots of people to here them.
