今日はすっごいいメンバーだったから最高！きてくださった方、本当にありがとうございました。とっても信頼しているベースの斎藤さん、ピアノの石田さんも素晴らしかったし、岡部さんは本当にすごかった！！なによりも私が大ファンのマツモニカさんとご一緒できたのが、すごく幸せでした。まだあのあたたかいハーモニカの音が耳に残っています。写真はそんなマツモニカさんと。
Today was such great members. Sohei and Mamoru were great as usual and Mr.Okabe was amazing. But the best thing for me is that I could play with matsumonica because I am a great fan of him. I can still remember his warm sound.

二回目のこのトリオ。今日は生音でやってみました。ジェシーは全体的に木のつくりなので、すごく気持ちよく響いて、これからはここも生音でやるぞ！生音で艶っぽい音が出したいのです。直さんが持ってきたListen to the dawnというとっても美しい曲を演奏しました。次回は6月28日です。
It is the second time with this members. I tried playing with out a mike which went really well because JJ is mostly made by wood and I really enjoyed it. My aim is to get a rich sound out of the Flute.I shall play with out a mike from next time. The next time is 6/28.

かえって来ましたよー。ちょーーーーーーー楽しかった！アイディアが一杯です。でも帰ってくるなり色々トラブルになって、、パソコンは使えないわ、メールアドレスも使えないわ、おまけに昨日携帯電話をトイレに落としてメモリはなくなるわで散々な目なのです。
でも、これはきっと神様が、「ミヤ、目を覚ましなさい！世の中の電子機器に頼るべからず！」といっているのだわ。うーん、がんばる。
しばらく音信不通でご迷惑をおかけしました。パソコンは無事復活したので、さっそくブログ更新です。
イギリスから帰ってきてのラ初ライブは国立のノートランクスにて、おなじみの水谷さん、外山さんのコードレストリオ。
久々のライブだったので心配でしたが、なんかまだ開いてる感じですごくよかった。色々新しいことも試せた。もっとこのアイディアを発展させるぞ。
I am back now in Japan. i had such an amazing time! Anyway since I came back I am in big trouble because I had some thing wrong with mu computer so I couldn't use it. Also I had some thing wrong with my internet server so I can't use my e-mail adress which is a big problem because all my contacys I made in England are supposed to come to my e-mail adress. If anyone is seeing this blog whom I met in England please send a mail to the adress on this hp and I will get back to you.
My first gig back in Japan was with my chord less trio in Kunitachi No Trunks. I was a little worried because I hadn't been playing that much but it turned out really good because I could concentrate a lot. I must go further with all the ideas I got in England!

あぁ、いよいよ明日は現実に帰る。この二週間は夢のようでした。帰ったらたまっている雑用を思うとすごい気が重い。
最後の日が一番よかったかも。
先日Vortexで知り合ったサックスプレイヤーのIngridに教えてもらった、ロンドン郊外のThe Othersで行われるフリージャムセッションに行きました。ここでたくさんのエネルギーのつまった同世代のミュージシャンと知り合いました。みんなすごかった。フリーのジャムセッションって大学以来してない。でもめちゃくちゃ楽しかった。初めてジャムセッションを心から楽しむことが出来ました。素晴らしいミュージシャンと交流できたし、いつかロンドンと東京でお互いに行き来することをちかったのでした。
音楽って本当に国境を越える。すごいよ。
このたびで大きな目標ができました。やりたいことがはっきりしました。それに視野がぐーーんと広がった。とにかく、家族と、とくにいとこのFelicityに大感謝です。
日本に帰ったら、また地道に活動していきますので、どうぞよろしくお願いします。帰ったら、26日に国立ノートランクスでのコードレストリオ、30日にはマツモニカさんをゲストに迎えての関内のBarbarbarという大仕事が控えています。

Today is my last night in London. When I get back to Japan there is so much to do because I haven't been working for 2 weeks and I don't really want to face the reality.
Any way I had a amazing night for the last night. I went to a club called the others in Stoke Newington and it was a free form jam session. I have written that I have never been really enjoyed jam sessions in my life but today was quite amazing. I play a little in free form but I haven’t had a jam session like that since I was in university. The musicians were great. I wasn’t really satisfied with my playing but it was great just meeting people and getting so much inspiration.
Music dose go over the boarders. It is wonderful.
I have found a big aim during this trip. I definitely want to come back to London and next time I want to play properly not just in jam sessions. I have made a few contacts so hopefully I will make it.
Going to England is very important for me not only because the music but for personal reasons. Having two nationalities I feel it is important to go between the two countries.
I will be working a lot when I get back to Japan so I hope I will see you in clubs. I have two big gigs coming up. The first in kunitachi No Trunks with my chord less trio. Second in Kannai featuring a beautiful sound harmonica player Matsumonica. I am looking forward to it!

パリからロンドンのRiver pool street station に直行して、Vortexというクラブで行われるジャムセッションに参加しました。初めてロンドンでフルートを吹くのでめちゃ緊張した。でも、内容はレベルがいまいちだったのでちょっとがっかり。結局、日本でも一度もジャムセッションを楽しんだことはないけど、ミュージシャンと知り合うのには絶好の機会です。こっちに来てから驚いたのが、以外に来日しているイギリスのジャズミュージシャンが多い。日本にいながら全然知らなかった。この旅をしてから、もっとヨーロッパのミュージシャンと交流を深めたいと強く感じています。
I went straight from Paris to London to play in a jazz club Vortex in a jam session. I have never enjoyed a jam session in my whole life but it is a great way to meet people. It was a very warm atmosphere but the music was a little different from what I expected it would be. What I am surprised is that actually there are quite a lot of British musicians that have come to Japan. I am strongly feeling that I need to make more contacts and relationships between England and Japanese jazz scene.
5月22日
先日、見に行ったライブのベーシストのLorenzoに誘われて、再びcafé 1001へ。でも、またやってしまった！10:00からと聞いていて、前に用事があったため、10:30頃ついたのですが、もう終っていた。どうやら予定よりはやくはじめたみたい。がっかりーー。結局Lorenzoと色々話しました。彼はイタリア人なのですが、今はロンドンで活動しています。ミュージシャンの置かれている経済的な立場は、ロンドンも東京もそんなに変わらないみたい。色々興味深かったです。Lorenzoはまた日本に来るそうで、彼が参加しているAndy Davis Quartet をリンクに追加したので、是非チェックしてみてください。素晴らしいバンドです。
The bassist who I went to see the other day Lorenzo invited me to join him to go and listen to a gig at café 1001. I did a big mistake. I was meeting a friend so I was a bit late and when I got there the music had ended. It happened that they had some problem with the sound so they started early. Any way it was nice because I could talk to Lorenzo and hear about London’s jazz scene. It seems that the situation us musicians are in our quite the same in Japan and England although I feel there is a big difference when how the music is accepted and appreciated. I have put Andy Davis Quartet on my link it is a band Lorenzo playes in so please have a look. They should be coming back to Japan and they sounded great!

パリ、フランス。私はここで信じられない体験をしました。アンリ・テキシェのコンサートに行くための一泊旅行。ロンドンからだとユーロスターで3時間弱です。私はこのユーロスターについて大きな誤解をしていていました。ほとんど海中トンネルかと思っていたのですが、実際海中にいるのは30分ほど。新幹線とほとんどかわらない。
そんな感じでスムースにフランスに入国。ギリギリまで、フランスに行けるかわからなかったので、全然フランス語を勉強しなかったことをついてから大後悔。片言でも覚えていけばよかった。タクシーにのるのもドキドキです。紙に行き先を書いてなんとかホテルに到着。凱旋門のすぐ近くです。
早速荷物を置いて、時間もたっぷりあったので、散策がてら目的地であるフランス国営放送まで歩いていくことにしました。凱旋門を通って、エッフェル塔へ、セーヌ川沿いにちょっと進んだところにあります。パリは歩くのには最高に気持ちいい。美しい建築物も多いし、市民の美意識がとても高い。
観光もすませて、無事会場に到着。見逃すわけにはいかないので、2時間前につきました。今日の公演は日本で言ったらセッション505みたいな感じで国営ラジオの公開録音です。はやくついたおかげで一番前で見ることが出来ました。二部構成のコンサートだったのですが、一部でソロピアノで演奏したYvan Robillardにまず度肝を抜かれました！こんなすごい音楽聴いたことない。圧倒的なテクニックと、叙情的なメロディ、緻密に計算されているように聞こえる構成、ジャズに完璧という言葉はないとおもっていたのですが、彼の演奏は一瞬のすきもない完璧な演奏でした。明日CD探しにいくぞ！もう一度ききたい。
2部は目当てのアンリ・テキシェ。あのあたたかい演奏を生で見られたのは最高でした。フランスまできてよかった。
このコンサートのあと、まっすぐにホテルに帰る予定だったのですが、うれしい出来事があったのです。コンサートが始まる前に私の前に並んでいた人とひょんな事から会話が始まって（英語で話してくれました、フランス語が一言もしゃべらないのをこの時一番後悔した。）アンリ・テキシェの大ファンという事で、私がミュージシャンだというと、すごく喜んでくれて、今日はパリの美術館が深夜の12時まであいている特別な日なので、案内してくれるというのです。
そんな訳で、さっきであったばかりのですが、一緒に夕食をたべ、友人も集まって、深夜のパリ見物にでかけました。
それはそれは、素晴らしい体験でした。美術館もライトアップされたエッフェル塔も素晴らしかったけど、なによりもパリで出会った人たちの、暖かさ、やさしさに感激しました。こんな事あるんだね。この体験は胸の深いところに響いています。本当にありがとう！
I had the most amazing time in Paris. I went to see a concert of Henri Texier . The music was fabulous and I was definitely right to go all done to Paris. Specially I was amazed with the piano player Yvan Robilliard who played solo piano on the first act. I thought jazz never had the word perfect but his playing was something like I had never heard. Beautiful melodies lines , astonishing technique and the way he constructed his music seemed perfect. I really want to hear him again so I must go and search for a cd.
I met some great people at the concert. They were standing in front of me for the tickets and we had a conversation. I regretted so much that I didn’ｔstudy even a simple word of French before I came. Anyway they were kind to talk in English. It happened to be a special day that all the museums are open until midnight and I told them that I was a musician and it was my first time in Paris and they invited me for dinner and showed me round Paris in the night.
Everything was beautiful but the thing that moved me most was the kindness and warmness of people in Paris. Next time I go I must learn some French!

今、ロンドンのいとこの家に居候しているのですが、Felicity といってイギリスでトップの銀行で働くスーパー証券ウーマンなのです。これは又聞きだけど、ロンドンは株式では今世界で一番あついところなんだって。確かにオリンピックもあるし、町全体が活気にあふれてる。だからジャズもいきいきしてるのかな。
そんなとても成功しているいとこなのですが、今回の旅で私は頭が上がらない思いなのです。めちゃくちゃ忙しい仕事が終ってから、私のジャズクラブ探検に付き合ってくれたり、色々情報収集をしてくれたり。それで私がお礼をいうと「いとこだから、当たり前だよ」というのです。ずっと別々の国で暮らしてきたのに。
今回の旅はもともと家族に会うのが目的だったのですが、こんなに胸が一杯になるとは思わなかった。
I must write about my super cousin. She is really a success in our family working in finance the most hot job in London. I am sure her work must be very hard and busy but she has done so much for me over my life and on this trip. I do not know how to thank her for coming along with me to jazz clubs and doing all the investigations she has done for me.

今日はLiver pool street station にあるcafé 1001に行きました。まず日本では見られないクラブでした。倉庫のようなところを改造して、どどーーんとソファが20個ぐらいおいてある。照明も薄暗くて、たぶん明るくしたら結構汚いだろうな。あまり食べ物を頼むのも気が進まない。でもロンドンっ子は気にもとめず、ソファーに奥深くうずもれながらバンドを囲むようにして、聞いたり、しゃべったり、飲んだりしていました。
今日のバンドはトランペットのAndy Davis カルテット。来日したこともあるバンドで、私もこの旅が決まってから、ベーシストのLorenzoとe-mailで連絡を取っていたのでした。リーダーのAndyは静と動の両面も持つ、とても美しく、洗練されたプレイヤーでした。音楽的にはオリジナル中心でかなりアグレッシブだったけど、その中にも紳士的というか、とってもスマートな瞬間があって、そのギャップにかなりドキドキしました。恋愛もそうだけど、そういうギャップってたまらないよね。日本では聞けないセンスでめちゃ勉強になった。
実際に自分の目で見るまでは予想もしていなかったのですが、ロンドンのジャズシーンにかなり惹かれています。ここではジャズがいきいきしてる！多分、こんなにしっくりくるのは、音楽的な理由だけではなくて、ミュージシャンの立ち振る舞いや態度を見ていると、7年間自分の中で死んでいた、イギリス細胞が息を吹き返してきているのを感じるからかな。かっこいいと思うものにもっと忠実でいていいんだ！
Today I went to see Andy Davis 's quartet in liver pool street station cafe 1001. It was a type of place you would never get in Japan. The club was full with young people and it had a very strong power of energy. I had been contacting the bassist of today’s band Lorenzo by e-mail since the band had been in Japan on tour. It was great to talk to some musicians.
The music was very creative and I really enjoyed it. The gap between the two sides tonight’s band Andy Davis quartet was really attractive. The cool and smart side and the energetic side. The best thing is that you couldn’t get that kind of music in Japan.
I didn’t even think about this until I actually came to London and saw it with my eyes but I am very attracted to the London jazz scene. Jazz is alive here with all the creativity left. It is still my 3rd night so I must see more but I am having a great experience now!

今日はPizza express Jazz club にてDean street underground orchestraを聞きました。このpizza expressはピザのチェーン店なのですが、ジャズの生演奏にもかなり力を入れているよう。六本木のサテンドールぐらいの広さで、雰囲気は東京駅のコットンクラブのようなおしゃれな店でした。テナーのTim Garland率いる、9ピースオーケストラ、p,b,dr,Ts,as,tb,tp,tp という編成です。音楽の内容はオリジナル曲と日本でもよく演奏される、セロニアスモンクのOff Minor, Round about midnight,バスコアールのbebeなど多彩なチャンプル。ビーバップが土台なスタイル。でも正直こういう音楽家なら日本にもごろごろいるぞー。音楽に隙間がなく難解に聞こえるジャズは苦手なんだ。ちょっと疲れた。でも、音楽的なヒントは色々収穫できました。
昨日も思ったけど、曲の終り方に独特なものがあります。一番印象に残ったのはベーシスト、プロレスラーのような体格でらくらくとベースをあやつります。そこから繰り出すフレーズやビートがすごくて！安定感抜群、ソロの構成も素晴らしかった。わたしもこんなソロがとってみたいものです。
Today I went to Pizza express Jazz club to hear Dean street underground orchestra. This pizza express is about the size of satin doll in roppongi and it had a very nice atmosphere, The band was leaded by Tim Garland playing a tenor sax and it was a 9 piece band. They played some originals and songs like we play in Japan like off minor, Round about midnight and bebe. I think it would be possible to get this type of music in Japan. Any way I managed to get some good musical ideas. The way they end their music was quite interesting like ending the tune in the middle of a solo and there was a lot to learn.

今私は家族との対面を終え、ロンドンにいます。いよいよジャズクラブ探検の開始です。ジャズクラブは東京と同じで20:00頃はじまって、終電ギリギリに終ります。小心者の私は一人で出歩くのが不安でしたが、危ないところさえ行かなければ大丈夫というロンドン在住のいとこの言葉を信じて、とことこ出かけました。
初日は606クラブwww.606club.co.jp
でTony Smith and co featuring Sarah Jane Morrisの演奏を聴きました。はじめてのロンドンでのジャズクラブ！音楽が始まる前のワクワクはとても言葉にできません。ギター、キーボード、ベース、ドラム、、そしていよいよ始まると、、、、、、
すごい！エネルギーの高さ、繊細なところでお互い聞きあっているのですごいパワーでした。オリジナル中心の構成ですが、かなり盛り上がりました。かっこよかった。
日本ではなかなか情報が得られなかったけど、ロンドンのジャズシーンはかなり熱い！
昨日までは美しいイギリスの田舎で本当に穏やかな気持ちで眠れたのですが、都会に来て、あの演奏を聴いたら、フルートが吹きたくてウズウズして、興奮してなかなか眠れませんでした。
Now I am in London. I am staying with my cousin and checking out jazz clubs. It is the same in Tokyo but jazz clubs start at about 20:00 and finish late so I was afraid to walk out on my own late at night but my cousin told me that it was fine so I went along.
The first night I went to 606 club www.606club.co.jp to see Tony Smith and co featuring Sarah Jane Morris. I was so excited because it was my first time to hear jazz in the UK. It was hard to get any information in Japan about the jazz scene of England. But I guess I was very lucky from the first night because the music was great, really exciting. I felt that I really wanted to play the flute!

ついにやってきました！第二の故郷、イギリス。今私は、おじいちゃんの住む町、チィチェスターにいます。礼拝堂で有名な町です。写真もたくさん載せたいのですが、デジカメをパソコンにつなぐ台を日本に置いてきてしまったので、帰国したら公開予定です。
7年ぶりのイギリス。ついた次の日がこの旅のメインイベント、おじいちゃんの90歳の誕生日パーティです。親戚や友人で70人もの出席者がいて、私も本当にひさしぶりに家族や親戚に会いました。みんなとても暖かく迎えてくれて、まるで10年前からここにいるような気持ちになってしまいました。昨日まで日本にいたのが信じられないぐらい。
なんと私はこのパーティでフルートを吹くのです。しかも独奏！おじいちゃんを含め、ほとんどの人が私のフルートを聴くのは初めて。舞台ではほとんど緊張しないのですが、みんなの前にたって吹き始める前に突然、ツン！とわさびを食べたときに鼻にくるような、鋭い緊張が胸にきました。
曲は私がイギリスにいた時の思い出を元にかいたIron Actonを演奏しました。（書いたときはまさかイギリスで演奏する事になるとは思いませんでした！）
どういう風に受け入れられるかとても不安でしたが、みんなすごく拍手をくださって、帰り際にたくさんの方から、祝福されたので、ほんとうにうれしかった。それにしても音楽に対する評価や関心がとても高い国だと言う事を感じます。
なによりもおじいちゃんが喜んでくれて、よかった。音楽の偉大さをあらためて感じました。
At last I am back in England. Now I am in chicester a town where my Grandfather lives. The next day I arrived is the main event of my journey, my grandfather’s 90th birthday party. He had family and friends all from the country and I met my British family too which I haven’t met for several years. They all welcomed me so kindly that I nearly forgot that I was in Japan.
I am going to play the flute at this party. It is my first time to play in England since I started music as my carrier. Also it is the first time for my grandfather to hear me too. I usually don’t have any problem with stage fright but this time I felt a little nervous before I played.
I played a song called Ironactn a song I composed in Japan about my memories in England. I was worried how it would be accepted but when I finished playing I got a lot of hand claps and many people told me they liked it so I was so much pleased. I felt that people in England really appreciate music compared to Japan.
The best thing was that my grand father said that he enjoyed it.

ストリングスは前も思ったけど、お客様がじーっと聞いてくださって、音楽家としてこんなにうれしいことはないのです。編成がアコースティックだからかな。ピアノ、チェロ、フルートという変則的なトリオは2回目ですが、前よりもフォーカスがさだまったように感じました。イメージも浮かんできたし今度やるときはもっとコンセプトをもってやりたいと思いました。そのくらい楽しいメンバーです。
さて明日からいよいよイギリスです。演奏の後はなかなか興奮して眠れないのですが、さらに準備不足が重なって、いまかなり混乱しています。そうだ！こんなブログを書いている場合ではないのだ。また随時報告しますね。

I felt this last time when I played at strings but the audience here listen really carefully so it is a great stuation for musicians. Maybe it is because it is an acoustic trio. Piano, Cello, Flute is an unusual trio but it is our second time so we seemed to be more focused. I found some good images so I would like to think for a concept for next time. They are great members.
I am going to England tomorrow. I will tell you how it goes!

このメンバーはすごい楽しかったし、いろんな可能性を感じます。また、絶対にやりたいな。ゲートワンにいると、ジャズってやっぱ最高だよね！と思う。最近オーナーのまりこさんと信二さんに会えないのが残念です。
It is so fun to play with today’s members. I found many possibilities and would definitely like to do it again. When I’m in Gate one can feel all the good elements of jazz.

先日たっぷりリハーサルをしたので、新曲がたくさんでした！どれも難しいけどやりがいがあります。ストテルの大好きな所は曲の終わり方。セッションの場合はジャジャアアーンって終わってしまうこともよくあるのですが、ストテルの場合は最後の音でストンっと終れる。ブルーノートにアコーディオンのリシャール・ガリアーノを見に行ったときに思ったのですが、それまで盛り上がっていても最後の音でさりげなくポンって終るのがすっごい洗練されていて、おしゃれな感じがした。大人な終り方だな、と感銘を受けたのを覚えています。まぁ、私はまだまだ（？）若いので勢いも大事にしますけどねー！
The other day we had a lot of time to rehearse so we had a lot of new songs. They are all difficult but worth the work. The best thing I like about our band story tellers is the way we end our music. When it is a session band often we end very loudly but with ST we can just end on a quiet simple note. I think that is one of the very important elements of music.

クライドさんはまるで全身が音楽で出来ているみたい。譜面なんてみなくても彼が出すサウンドを聞いていれば、うまくいくようなパワーをもった方でした。リズム、ハーモニー、メロディ全部の要素を持っていて私たちはそれにのっかるとすっごい気持ちいいのです。人間的にも本当にやさしくて、私も絶対にこんなグレイトな音楽家になりたいと誓いました！今日のライブは絶対に忘れられないと思います。生きててよかった。
Clyde is a person like he is made by music. He has all the musical elements in him melody, harmony and rhythm and if I just listen to him and play tougher he has a special power that makes everything go right. It was amazing experience and I have got a new aim to become a great person and a great musician like him.

今日は朝から俊太郎バンドでレコーディング。8月にワッツニューレコードから発売される、斎藤こず恵さんのリーダーCDです。私は一曲のみの参加ですが、俊太郎さんがプロデュースするサウンドはとってもご機嫌！なので、完成が楽しみです。
夜はキュービック発足の地、新宿Jでのライブ。レギュラーメンバーが集まらなかったためピアノの楠さんとベースの斎藤さんに特別にきていただいたのですが、二人とも素晴らしかった！最近毎回ちょっとずつメンバーが違うのですが、いつもやっている曲が全然変わったりしてこれはこれで新鮮で楽しいです。キュービックのフルートメンバーはそれぞれリーダーライブも積極的にやっていますが、こうして三人集まるとなんだかホームグランドのようで落ち着きます。これからもどんどんジャズフルートが広がりますよう、是非応援にいらしてくださいね！今日来てくださった方、本当にありがとうございました。次回は7月に久々のレギュラーメンバーで荻窪のルースターです。この日は新曲もできるかも？どうぞお楽しみに！.

In the night I played at Shinjyuku J where our band cubic note started. The regular members couldn’t make it so we had Mr. Kusunoki on piano and Mr. Saito on bass as a sub and they both played great. Recently it is hard to get all the regular members but it is interesting even if one person is different the whole sound changes so it is worth the challenge. All the flute members including me are playing at other places as a leader but I feel like I’m at home when I am with cubic note. I hope that jazz flute will get known more and more so please come and check the cubic note out! Thank you so much to the great people who came tonight. Our next gig is in Ogikubo Rooster in July. It will be with the regular members so please look forward to it. Maybe we will be able to play some new tunes!

今日はゆかりさんとゆうさんと代ナル。
お二人ともよくご一緒するのですが、別々の機会だったりして、実は三人でやるのは二回目なのですね。なんだか新鮮な感じでした。ゆかりさんとは先日デュオでご一緒したばかりなのですが、パーカッションが入るとガラッと感じが変わる瞬間があって、驚きました。いったいいくつの引き出しをもっているのだろう。すごすぎる！ゆうさんのマレットソロもすっごくかっこよかったなぁ。また7月に同じメンバーで出演しますのでお楽しみに！
I often play with both Yukari and You but I realized that it was the second time to play with just the three of us so that was a fresh feeling. I have just played a duo with Yukari the other day but when the percussion joins in I realized that her playing changes a lot so I was astonished. I wonder how many different expressions she must have. It is amazing! You’s solo using mallets was great too. We are playing with the same members again in July so please look forward to it!
