I watched the figure skating finals from 3am in the morning. Every countries skater had their own beauty and it was interesting just watching there expressions. The first Japanese skater was Miki. It felt really long although it was only a few seconds when she challenged 4 spin jumps. Although it didn’t go well it is wonderful she challenged it. After that high level skaters followed and at last it became Arakawa’s time. It was amazing. So beautiful I forgot it was sports. But you can’t judge art so I guess it is sports. I was so pleased when she won gold. She is the same age as me. I wonder if I will be able to express that much when I get to my peek as a musician.
Without enough sleep I went to Nagoya. It is my first time to play in a jazz club as a leader. I felt nervous because it was a new place but the members and the master of star eyes were very kind so I could relax and play. The photo is with Mr.Hiroyuki Kitagawa on bass and Mr.Yuichi Hayashi on piano. It was our first time tougher so we played mostly standards but next time I would like to play some originals.
After playing I felt that people in Nagoya are really kind warm. They are great listeners.
This reminds me of the figure skater Ms.Suguri Fumie. She always says in her interview how she is thankful to the audience and she says that she could skate because of them. I really understood that feeling yesterday. Thank you so much for coming yesterday. I really would like to go to Nagoya again.
Today in the day time I rehearsed for the flute summit runned by Mr.Kosei Kikuchi. It was interesting because Mr.Kikuchi also playes the sax so there were some ideas that I wouldn’t have come up with. I shall use it with our band cubic note next time. It is my first time to play with Mr. Ryo Sakagami. I was the only jazz flute player in my university so I have never compeated against other flute players but it is really fun when 3 flute players get tougher.
We are playing at Tokyo TUC on the 26th. I hope to see you there.
By the way my recent aim is to play with a relaxed feeling not to push the note. I think this is common with all flutists but we normaly have to play loud because the band members play SO loud. Anyway I have got to reached that if my sound is a really good sound if it is not a loud sound people will hear it. This is quite difficult but I am going to try it.
To complete my new idea I need help by the listeners too. In that way tonight’s audience were great. It was my first time to play at Kichijyoji Strings. It had a nice atmousphier and a good sound. I really liked it so I hope I can play there again. It is great to play with Yukari and Orie. They can play really softly and also amazingly dynamic so it is exciting.

I couldn’t sleep thinking about My funny valentine yesterday so today I am going to try not to think about it.I often think about Mr. Sotoyama's words. He said that music is not always beautiful. This means a lot to me.
I want to play music that is so sensitive it is like threading a needle.
Anyway today was Orie’s Sitsunai Jazz Gakudan in satin doll.There was a great time when it went really with maiko. That moment was the reason I play music. It was a great feeling. Orie brings all types of songs so it is always great fun. She even played the piano. You never know what will happen.
It was really a joy to play with orie and maiko for two days.
Tomorrow I am playing with Mr. Mizutani and Mr.Sotoyama at Notrunks. They are my aim so I am really looking forward to it.
さて、こんなことを書いたら嫌われてしまうかもしれないのですが、日本に1000のジャズクラブがあったら990のお店で今夜My funny valentineがかかったと思うの。もちろん私たちもやりました。素晴らしい曲だし、私も大好きですが、内容はバレンタインにあまり関係ないし（自分が好きな人は見た目からなにから完璧ではないけど、それでも自分にとってはかけがえのない大切な人という歌詞です）同じくらい美しい有名なラブソングは他にもいっぱいあるのに。謎だ！My funny white day という曲でも書いたら売れるのかしらん。わからない。来年のバレンタインまでにはこの謎がとけるといいのだけど。
It is so fun to play with tonight’s members. I challenged to do some talking over the music. I said about how much I love chocolate. I don’t know if I did it well but it was fun. The best thing to play with tonight’s members is that everybody has a beautiful pure sound. I think that is most important playing music.
I don’t know if this is right to say but this valentine day thing seems a little strange to me. My funny valentine has nothing to do with valentines day but I guess 90percent of jazz clubs played that song tonight. We played it anyway.
Tomorrow I am playing in Orie’s Shitsunai Jazz Gakudan. It is my second day with Orie and maiko. I am looking forward to it!
ビンボーミュージシャンまっしぐらの私ですが、仲牟礼さんとご一緒するとどんな最高級なサービスをうけるよりも贅沢な気持ちになります。（そりゃ、もともとそんなサービス受けたことないけどさ、そういう高級な現場に演奏で行ったことはあるもんねー）ああ、至福のとき。しかーしこれは自分が演奏していないときのみ。仲牟礼さんと佐瀬さんの美しい旋律のやりとりを聴いて、うっとりしているうちはいいのですが、自分は無謀にも大先輩を相手に気合いの空回りから、手も足も出ずにいっぱいいっぱい。それでも仲牟礼さんのやさしい音は音楽の喜びにあふれているのです。最高の時間でした。次回のMiya plays standardsは戸塚Ｇ クレフで３／１４にあります。どうかお楽しみに！
Like most musicians of my age I am lucking of daily money but playing with Mr. Nakamure is the most of luxury time. Mr.Nakamure and Mr.Sase are having a beautiful conversation with musical phrases. It is great when I am not playing but once I start playing there are too many things happening for me to give response. Anyhow Mr.Nakamure’s sound is full of the joy of music.The next time for Miya plays standards is on 3/14 at Totsuka G clef. Please look forward to it!
It is so fun to play with no chord instruments. It is like sailing a ship on a wide sea for an adventure not knowing where we go. There are so many interesting happenings playing with Mr.Okabe and Mr.Sase.I hope we can play again tougher.
Today was really cool. I played with Yukari on piano and Naoko on vocal. Yukari has so many different ways to express music and such a beautiful touch on the piano it is true joy to play tougher. I used to dislike playing with singers because I found it hard to find my position but today I found it fun. I guess I'm getting used to it. Today Mr.Tetsuyuki Kishi and Mr.Daisuke Ito came to sit in. It was my first time to play with Daisuke but he was a wonderful lyrical musician. I hope we can play tougher again. I am studying writing music now and I had a lesson today so my musical mind was really clear by the time we started to make music.
I am playing at Naru on the 8th with Mr. Tadashi Sase and Mr.Yoichi Okabe. I am really looking forward to it.
Today the owner of gate one Mariko and Shinji weren't there so ot felt strange but the music was great! All the members played wonderful and two students came from my universtiy and they were bth great. I love music.
We practiced yesterday so the music was great today. My runny nose is coming to an end so I’m getting back my control of the flute. The policy of story tellers is to play truly good songs so we played one beatles and one song that Mr. Michishia’s student wrote. Also one student came to sit in which was fun.
